BCSC resource officer adds regional role

A Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. school resource officer has been selected to represent east central Indiana as an Indiana School Resource Officer regional representative.

Officer Julie Quesenbery, who has been with the Columbus Police Department for 11 years, will be the regional representative beginning in January.

She will be responsible for sharing information about school trends with about 50 officers in her region and continue assisting with officer training.

As a school resource officer, Quesenbery is assigned to patrol Columbus East High School and other area schools to ensure that students and teachers remain safe throughout the day. Besides East, she is assigned to Central Middle School, McDowell Education Center and Fodrea, Clifty Creek, Lincoln, Smith, Richards and Rockcreek elementary schools.

Larry Perkinson, BCSC’s employee and student assistance coordinator, said Quesenbery’s selection was well deserved as BCSC considers its resource officers as the best in the nation.
