Dawna Delores Wedan, 93, of Columbus, passed from this life at 12:05 a.m. Wednesday, November 16, 2016, at Silver Oaks Health Campus.

Mrs. Wedan was born May 20, 1923, in Columbus, to Karl and Clara Merriman Kreinop. She married Vern E. Wedan November 27, 1947. He preceded her in death September 27, 2004.

A homemaker, Mrs. Wedan worked at Arvin Industries earlier in life and was a member of East Columbus United Methodist Church.

She was a former Sunday school teacher and always put everyone else first.

Survivors include her sons, Kevin (Sharon) Wedan of Columbus, Eric Wedan of Nashville and Mark (Jackie) Wedan of Freetown; grandchildren, Caleb (Kaitlin) Wedan, stationed with the Air Force in Guam, Rebecca Wedan of Freetown and Regina (Aaron) Jessie, Brad Wedan, Brian (Amanda) Wedan and Karl Wedan, all of Columbus; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Wedan was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brothers, Harold Keith and Donald Kreinop.

The funeral will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Jonathan Moore Pike with the Rev. Charles Aigner officiating. Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time Friday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society for breast cancer research.
