Butlerville
Charles Joe Helms, 68, of Butlerville, died at 4:23 p.m. November 19, 2016, at St. Vincent Jennings Hospital in North Vernon.
He is survived by his wife, Vicky Helms of Butlerville; sons, Jon Helms of Butlerville, Lennie (Vicky) Helms of Brookville and Arnie Helms of Ajo, Arizona; daughter, Nichelle (Joe) Burkhardt of Bridgeport, Illinois; step-daughters, Traci Baldwin and Amy (John) McCanlis, both of North Vernon and Bekah Hunsucker of Lawrenceburg; sister, Lynda Schmidt of Sparks, Nevada; eight grandchildren; and four step-grandchildren.
A memorial service for Mr. Helm will be conducted at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Nebraska Church of God in Nebraska with the Rev. Todd St. John officiating. Family and friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
A Masonic memorial service will be conducted by members of New Fairfield Masonic Lodge No. 98 at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the New Fairfield Masonic Lodge No. 98 in New Fairfield, Indiana; a memorial service will follow with the Rev. Todd St. John officiating. Family and friends may call from 1 to 4 p.m. at thelodge. Military rites will be given by members of New Fairfield American Legion Post No. 77.
Arrangements were entrusted to the care of the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the NRA (National Rifle Association).
