Hundreds of Columbus East football fans who followed the Olympians to Lucas Oil Stadium for the Class 5A championship game also followed them home, with a heart-felt welcome as state runner-up to Westfield, which prevailed 16-13 on Saturday night. The stands were full, and the crowd gave the 2016 Olympians, who finished 13-2, a standing ovation upon their arrival.
