Taylorsville
Richard L. “Dick” Greenlee, 81, of Taylorsville, died at 1:20 p.m. Saturday at the Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Born in Bartholomew County on Nov. 16, 1935, Dick was the son of Cecil and Wilma Wilbur Greenlee.
He married Shirley Ping Trimnell, and she survives. He later married Karen Warren Neville in Jeffersonville, Kentucky, on May 24,1986, and she survives.
Dick retired from Reeves Pulley in ’98 where he worked for many years as a machine operator.
He was a member of the Taylorsville Fire Department from ’52 to ’55. Dick enjoyed collecting and selling Beanie Babies at the Flea Market in Gnawbone. He was known as the “Beanie Baby Man”.
Surviving Dick is his wife, Karen Warren Neville Greenlee of Taylorsville; sons, Anthony (Carmen) Greenlee of Atlanta, Georgia, and Brian (Lana) Greenlee of Hope; step-children, Mark Neville, Russell (Joyce) Neville and Debbie (Jim) Howe, all of Columbus; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Ronald Greenlee of Hope.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Virginia Proffit, Mary Covert and Deloris Stewart; brothers, Paul and Dillon Greenlee; a step-son, Jim Neville and his faithful friend, Lucy.
The funeral service for Dick will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2016, at Hathaway-Myers Chapel on Pearl Street, with Pastor Brad Douglas officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Nashville. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p. m. Tuesday and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
