William Kreinhop

William R. Kreinhop, 83 of Hope, passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at his home.

Before retirement, he had been employed as a teacher for 35 years, working in Shelby and Bartholomew County school systems.

He served in the U.S. Marines from 1952 to 1955 as a first Marine Airwing in Korea.

William enjoyed fishing, hunting, reading and nature, especially in being involved with planting trees. He was a life member of NRA.

He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Born December 18, 1932, in Napoleon, Indiana, William was the son of William H. and Hazel Shaw Kreinhop. He married Donna Ward August 22, 1959, and she survives.

Other survivors include daughters, Kristina (Brent) Burns of Indianapolis and Alixia (James) Worman of Greenwood; grandchildren, Anabel and Nolan Burns of Indianapolis and William and Andrew Worman of Greenwood; a brother, James (Mariko) Kreinhop of Shelbyville; a niece, Karen (Dave) Lutz of Las Angelos; and a nephew, Bill (Cheryl) Kreinhop of Shelbyville.

Honoring William’s wishes, cremation is planned and a memorial service will be at a later date. Funeral arrangements were made through Norman Funeral Home in Hope.

Memorial contributions may be donated to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana or the Arbor Day Foundation through the funeral home.

William was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Victor Kreinhop.
