Cecil Edward Cox, 75, of Edinburgh, died at 5:45 p.m., November 28, 2016, at his home.

Cecil was born October 19, 1941, in Columbus, the son of James Herman Cox and Esther (Noel) Cox Johnson. He married Kim (East) Cox on October 16, 2012.

Cecil served his country in the United States Army. He retired from Epperson Painting and was previously employed at Center Line Mold in Edinburgh. Cecil was a member of the Moose and Eagles Lodge and, in his leisure time, loved to golf and play cards.

The funeral will be at 5 p.m., Saturday, December 3, 2016, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Arnold Andrews officiating. Military rites will be performed by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard. Calling will be from 3 p.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana through the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Kim; a son, Cecil “Skip” Cox of Columbus; grandchildren, Ashley Cox, Kelly Cox, Layla James, Izaac Cody, Carter Loudan and Frankie Cody; a cousin, Shila Brown.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Floyd A. Cox.

Services were entrusted to the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.
