Robert E. Stark, 95, of Meadowlark Lane, died at 10:10 p.m. November 27, 2016, at his home.

Robert was born November 4, 1921, in Jennings County, the son of Edison H. and Opal Perkins Stark. He married Roberta J. Beckett June 15, 1947.

He served in the U.S. Army during WWII in Mainz, Germany, at the end of the war. He achieved the rank of staff sergeant in field artillery. He was a graduate of the I.U. School of Business.

Robert was owner of Stark Agency – Insurance and Real Estate for 34 years before retiring in 1985. He was a charter member of Fairlawn Presbyterian Church.

Robert was an avid collector of antique advertising, glass bottles and jars.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, December 1, 2016, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Tom Hinshaw officiating. Calling hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the donor’s choice of charity.

Survivors include his son, Robert W. (Sharon) Stark of Columbus; daughter, Nancy Stark (fiancee Alan Hammond) of Columbus; grandchildren, Brian (Kelly) Stark, Traci Kintner and Jacqueline Stark; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Roberta; brother, Gaylord Stark; and a grandson, Robert “Jason” Stark.
