William Kreinhop

William R. Kreinhop passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at his home in Hope. He was 83 years old. Bill was born on December 18, 1932, in Napoleon, Indiana, to William H. and Hazel Shaw Kreinhop. He graduated from Napoleon High School in 1950 and went on to earn degrees from IU School of Business in 1959 and Butler University in 1964. Bill joined the USMC in 1952. He was with the 1st Marine Air Wing unit, serving in Korea as well as several bases in the U.S. Bill married Donna Ward on August 22, 1959, and they were blessed with two beautiful daughters.

Bill became a teacher holding a master’s degree. He taught in Shelby County and Bartholomew County for 35 years before his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and being outdoors. Bill loved to read and to volunteer. He often donated to charities and was a driver for cancer patients needing rides to their doctor’s appointments. He was a lifelong member of the NRA, but, most importantly, he was a family man. His favorite times were spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Bill is survived by his wife of 57 years, Donna, and their children, Kristina (Brent) Burns of Indianapolis and Alixia (James) Worman of Greenwood. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Anabel and Nolan Burns of Indianapolis and William and Andrew Worman of Greenwood; his brother, James (Mariko) Kreinhop of Shelbyville; a niece, Karen (Dave) Lutz of Los Angeles; and a nephew, Bill (Cheryl) Kreinhop of Shelbyville.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Victor Kreinhop.

Honoring Bill’s wishes, cremation is planned and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana or the Arbor Day Foundation through the funeral home. Funeral arrangements were made through Norman Funeral Home in Hope, Indiana.
