Evelyn Flora Richards, age 86, of Greensburg, Indiana, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2016, at Heritage House of Greensburg. Born July 14, 1930, in Ripley County, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Delia (Meyer) Narwold.

Evelyn graduated from Napoleon High School and then went on to Purdue where she earned an associate degree and also met Paul Richards. On February 4, 1950, she married Paul at St. John Huntersville Church in Batesville where she was a dedicated member, giving a lot of time along with many gifts to the church, like all the Bibles in the pews along with furniture in the office. Evelyn retired from Cummins Engine in Columbus, Indiana, where she was a legal secretary.

She was a member of OES 348 Batesville, the Tree City Squares and the Brunch Bunch in Indianapolis. Evelyn and her husband loved to travel around in their Winnebago, going camping and dancing, square dancing mostly. They did almost everything together from shopping to church but dancing is what they loved most. They danced in all but two states showing off their dancing skills, along with Russia and Poland during a time when it was not easy to travel to those countries.

Evelyn is survived by her son, Jerel Richards, and his wife Denise; grandchildren, Tonia Richards, Tawana Brewer, Scott Richards, Jerel Jr. Richards, Preston Richards and Tiffany Richards; along with 12 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, husband and son, she was preceded in death by her sister, Ethel Thielbar.

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 6, 2016, from 5 to 8 p.m., at Meyers Funeral Home, Batesville, Indiana, with OES services at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 7, 2016, at St. John United Church of Christ, Huntersville, with Pastor Dennis Frische-Mouri and Pastor Linda Frische-Mouri officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
