D. Lea Cain, 66, of Columbus, died at 5:50 a.m. Friday, December 2, 2016, at I.U. Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

Mrs. Cain was born January 4, 1950, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Robert Lee and Ella May Schooley Wilson.

She earned a bachelors begree in finance at St. Joseph’s College in Rensselaer, Indiana.

Mrs. Cain was currently an executive administrative specialist in investor relations at Cummins Inc. and was involved with the Cummins Employee Diversity Program.

She was a court appointed advocate for abused and neglected children (CASA) and enjoyed membership at Columbus Moose Lodge and the V.F.W. and American Legion Auxiliaries.

Mrs. Cain is survived by her husband, John A. Cain, whom she married October 16, 1996; sons, Jeremy (Susan Longhenry) McDonnell of Milwaukee and Chris McDonnell of Logansport; step-sons, Scott Cain of Columbus and Jason (Ann) Cain of Milwaukee; grandchildren, Chloe, Sean and Declan McDonnell, and Jackson and Jonah Cain; three great-grandchildren; sister, Sue (Steve) Held-Jensen of St. Louis; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Cain was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Robert Lee Wilson Jr.; mother-in-law, Helen L. Cain; and sister-in-law, Cindy Hudson.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Virgil Clotfelter officiating. Family and friends may call from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until service time Monday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
