Letter: Election Day result helped by prayer

The election is over. The protests and riots have subsided. The partisan and bigoted rhetoric continues in an effort to define why and how the Republicans won versus how and why the Democrats lost. We suspect it will continue for a while.

Election Day was interesting. The Democrats had a small lead until the Republicans got off work and went to vote.

Also, 2017 will be the first year in history where a billionaire displaces a minority family from government housing.

The new administration will no doubt repeal and replace Obamacare. That will be good. The Supreme Court may repeal Roe v. Wade. Unborn lives matter because all lives matter. I am sure the pope agrees with that.

We believe that the result of the election was the result of a lot of prayers. Our prayer was not that Trump would win, but that God’s will would be done. We believe it has been. The Apostle Paul tells us in Romans 13:1 “The authorities that exist have been established by God.” We read in Colossians 2:10 “Christ is the head over every power and authority,” and in Isaiah 33:22 “The Lord is our judge, the Lord is our lawgiver.”

May God continue to bless the USA.
