Alex Gross, Hauser junior basketball player

Gross scored 15 points in the Jets’ 76-70 loss at Greensburg and a career-high 27 points in Saturday’s 82-78 overtime loss at Franklin.

His performance last week: “My teammates put me in position to do well. I was kind of sad we didn’t come out with the win, but I have to give it to my teammates for setting me up on everything.”

Do you do anything special to prepare? “I pray about it.”

Alex Nusawardhana, Columbus North senior swimmer

Nusawardhana won the 200-yard freestyle and the 100 butterfly to help lead the Bull Frogs to a 134-87 win against Columbus East.

Her performance last week: “After having a lot of really tough practices, I was pretty pleased with my performance. Being close to my best times at this point in the season is really exciting.”

Do you do anything special to prepare? “I make sure to get a lot of rest and eat a good meal before and stay hydrated.”

Favorite drink: “Chocolate milk or water”

Favorite food: “Pizza”

Favorite book: “The Hunger Games series”

Favorite class: “My biomedical classes”

Role model: “All of my coaches”

Best advice: “Always try your best, no matter how hard things get, and be mentally tough through anything that comes your way.”

Athletics goal: “To go out there and do the best that I can do. I’m not setting a time limit. I just want to be the best that I can be.”

If you could travel anywhere: “Florida, because a lot of my friends have been there over spring break, and I would like to go experience it for myself.”
