Animal Care Services is inviting the community to “Bring Christmas to the Animals” to learn about adopting, fostering and volunteering opportunities at the shelter.
The open house, from 1 to 4 p.m. today at 2730 Arnold Drive, will feature more than 50 dogs, cats and kittens available for adoption. The community is asked to donate gifts for the animals at the shelter, including pet food (especially kitten and cat food), cat litter, paper towels, bleach and Dawn dishwashing liquid. The shelter also is seeking donations as the department is operated by city tax dollars and through fines/fees and donations.
This year, Animal Care Services is again participating in the Heritage Fund Grant A Wish Program where donors’ gifts will be matched dollar for dollar while funds remain.
