Accident with overturned vehicle leads to Elizabethtown woman’s arrest

COLUMBUS, Indiana — An accident that caused a vehicle to overturn has led to the arrest of an Elizabethtown woman. Channel Monique Vincent, 27, is being held in the Bartholomew County Jail in lieu of $8,500 bond on preliminary charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated with endangerment, and disorderly conduct.

Bartholomew County Sheriff’s deputy Andrew Dougan responded to a call at 10:31 p.m. Tuesday about a traffic accident with injury at State Road 7 and County Road 525E. Upon arrival, he found Elizabethtown Volunteer Fire Department members treating a 30-year-old female passenger trapped in an overturned vehicle, said Judy Jackson, spokeswoman for the sheriff’s department.

Dougan found the driver, who was later identified as Vincent, walking away from the scene. She initially resisted Dougan’s request for her to go with him back to the vehicle and he had to forcibly take her back, Jackson said.
