Looking Back – December 24


An afternoon wreck involving a dual-trailer semi scattered debris and sections of guardrail more than 50 feet and necessitated a five-hour closure of Interstate 65 on one of the heaviest traffic days of the year.


New district boundaries drawn by Bartholomew County Commissioners drew fire from residents outside Columbus City limits who were concerned that they would no longer be fairly represented.


Except for stores open to accommodate last-minute shoppers, Columbus closed up for a long Christmas weekend.
