Janet Janene Plumm, 81, of Columbus, died at 9:20 p.m. on December 25, 2016, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.

She was born on February 12, 1935, in Mechanicsburg, Ohio, to Perry and Hattie Shivler. She married Robert Plumm on May 5, 1956.

Janet loved her God, her family and her music. She was a member of Sandy Hook United Methodist Church where she was a member of the choir for 45 years. Janet was a co-founder and participant in Lasting Impressions Dinner Theatre group. She was a teacher at Cross Cliff Elementary school for nearly 25 years.

The funeral will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 28, 2016, at Sandy Hook United Methodist Church with Pastor Steve Russell officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana through the funeral home.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Plumm; daughters, Cindy (Ken) Bugler of Bloomington, Sandy (Jeff) James of New Palestine; grandchildren, Dustin(Pam) Gilbert of Westfield, Kyleigh Gilbert of Bloomington, Tyler (Heidi) Kolby of Cincinnati, Ohio, Caleb Kolby of Indianapolis; great-grandchildren, Mason Gilbert of Westfield, Lilly Gilbert of Westfield, Chase Gilbert of Bloomington and Briellyn Gilbert of Bloomington.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and three sisters.
