A retired K-9 for the Columbus Police Department died the day after Christmas.
K-9 Rex, who retired from service this past February, died Monday, police said. Rex began working for the department in July 2008 with K-9 Officer Chad Lehman and made nearly 250 apprehensions before his retirement.
