Tyler Vogel, Jennings County senior basketball player
Vogel scored 30 points Friday to reach 1,000 for his career and lead the Panthers to a 59-58 win against East Central for the South Ripley Invitational title. He also had 20 points in a win against Greenfield-Central and 17 in a win against Oldenburg Academy.
His performance last week: “We showed what our team was all about and continued to fight through everything and came out with three big wins.”
Do you do anything special to prepare? “We have a lot of fun together and try to keep the mood light so nobody gets real tight before the game.”

Imani Guy, Columbus North senior basketball player
Guy had 10 points in a 63-50 win against Evansville Memorial, 19 in Friday’s 65-64 overtime victory against Mooresville and 13 in Friday’s 55-49 loss to Zionsville to earn All-Tournament honors in the North Invitational.
Her performance last week: “I think I did a good job of staying low in the post and not letting my defenders push me up, and I think I did a good job of hitting free throws when I needed to.”
Do you do anything special to prepare? “The team always listens to music, and we dance around the locker room to get hyped up.”
