Michael and Sharon Mangas recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary with their family at Spring Mill State Park where the couple honeymooned. They also plan a trip to Italy in the spring.
Mr. Mangas and the former Sharon Drach were married Jan. 1, 1977, at Beck Chapel on the Indiana University campus in Bloomington, by the Rev. Jon Walters.
Mr. Mangas has been a doctor of optometry at Columbus Optical since 1978.
Mrs. Mangas retired from Columbus Regional Hospital and is a freelance writer for The Republic.

The couple have two children, Russell D. (Megan) Mangas of Chicago and Benjamin D. (Alexis) Mangas of Indianapolis. They also have three grandchildren.
