A train crashed into a car stopped on railroad tracks in northern Jackson County, but the vehicle’s driver, who was blinded by the sun, escaped with minor injuries.

The thrift store and garage at Interstate Brands on North National Road were demolished to accommodate 60 feet of new dock area and a new garage.

Irwin Union Bank and Trust Co. announced its drive-in windows on Washington Street and at Eastbrook Plaza would begin opening from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Wednesday to more effectively serve customers.
