Police look for local woman accused of stabbing her husband

Columbus police detectives are looking for a woman who is accused of stabbing her husband at their apartment.

Police were sent to the 1000 block of Phoenix Court at about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday where they spoke to the victim, a 44-year-old local man.

The victim told police that he was in an argument with his wife, identified as Heather D. Combs, 32, Columbus, when she grabbed a knife and began swinging it at him, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

The victim was then stabbed once in the stomach, Harris said. The husband was transported to Columbus Regional Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Harris said.

Combs fled the scene and has not been located, Harris said. Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to contact Columbus Police Detective Michael Pigman at 812-376-2631.
