Deputies search for home invasion suspects

A local woman used a handgun when confronting two masked individuals who entered her home.

Bartholomew County Sheriff’s detectives are investigating the home invasion that was reported at about 2:45 p.m. Wednesday on County Road 675W. The 29-year-old woman who lives at the home told detectives that two individuals, believed to be male, entered the residence wearing masks over their faces, said Sheriff Matt Myers.

An altercation ensued during which the woman fired a handgun at the individuals, Myers said. The victim does not know whether either of the two individuals had been hit, Myers said.

The woman was treated and released from Columbus Regional Hospital, Myers said.

The two suspects fled in a silver or blue older-model Cadillac, deputies said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Capt. Christopher Roberts at  812-565-5924 or call 911.
