Jeffersonville woman arrested in stabbing incident

Bartholomew County sheriff’s deputies have arrested a Jeffersonville woman after she was accused of stabbing her boyfriend.

Annie M. Brannon, 39, was arrested on charges of domestic battery in the presence of a minor and battery with bodily injury, deputies said. She is being held in the Bartholomew County Jail without bond, jail officials said.

Deputies were called to the 4300 block of East State Street at about 12:26 a.m. Thursday.

There, Brannon’s boyfriend told deputy Teancum Clark that the two had been drinking, deputies said.

Following a slight altercation, Brannon stabbed him, and then cut her own forearm, deputies said.

The boyfriend was treated at Columbus Regional Hospital for a small stab wound to the back of his head. Brannon was also taken to the hospital to be checked before being taken to jail, deputies said.

Clark was assisted by deputies Leah Burton and Dane Duke.
