Centra offering scholarships
The Centra Foundation is accepting applications for the 2017-18 Loretta M. Burd Scholarship Program through Feb. 13.
Eight $1,500 scholarships will be awarded to graduating high school seniors, and two $1,000 scholarships will go to adult or non-traditional students to be used at a two- or four-year college, university or technical school for the 2017-18 academic year.
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be a member of Centra Credit Union
- Have accounts in good standing
Applicants will be selected based on their academic achievement, school/community/work involvement and their written essay. To apply, go to centrafoundation.org.
The program is in honor of Loretta Burd, a retiree of Centra after 47 years, including 25 years as chief executive officer.
