WATERBURY, Conn. — Police say two people have died in a traffic crash on Route 69 in Waterbury.

Police tell The Republican-American that the crash occurred at about 7:30 a.m. Tuesday when a Honda CR-V sideswiped another vehicle while trying to pass and crashed.

The driver of the CR-V suffered fatal injuries.

A passenger was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital and later died.

The driver of another vehicle suffered minor injuries.

No names or ages were released but police say one victim was a man and the other was a woman.

The crash remains under investigation.
