Edinburgh
Linda Fay Gates, 69, of Edinburgh, passed away Sunday, Jan. 8, 2017, at Community Hospital South Indianapolis. She was born April 10, 1947, in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Albert and Velma (Lee) Hoskinson. She was married to Lester Lee Gates II for 47 years.
She is survived by her husband; a son, Lester Lee (Kenetia) Gates III of Ellettsville, Indiana; a daughter, Tonia (Dennis) Robinson of Taylorsville, Indiana; grandchildren, Haliegh Gates and Kristina Short; a sister, Geneva (Ron) Dailey of Altadena, California; brothers, John (Lisa) Hoskinson of Franklin, Indiana; James (Helen) Turner of Columbus and William (Doris) Peart of Lancaster, Texas; an aunt, Annie Mae Grider of Columbus; and an uncle, Roger (Hazel) Lee of Columbus.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Charles Earl Hoskinson, Harold Hoskinson and Earnie Hoskinson; sisters, Mary (Hoskinson) Burks, Ruth May (Hoskinson) Edgington, Marie Ann (Hoskinson) Kiker and Mary (Turner) Parker.
She was a graduate of Scottsburg High School and worked as a graphic designer. She enjoyed spending time with her family, flowers and vegetable gardening and working in her yard.
A funeral service will be conducted by the Rev. Ron Hawkins at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017, at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh, Indiana. Calling will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
