Carolyn S. Tempest, 78, of Columbus, joined her Father in Heaven at 9:15 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 8, 2017, at Keepsake Village of Columbus.

Mrs. Tempest was co-owner of The Ark Book & Gift of Columbus.

She was a member of First Christian Church, formerly attended The Bible Church of Columbus and was a former Women’s Bible study fellowship leader.

She was an avid gardener, artist, seamstress and writer.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Michael Hogg officiating. Family and friends may call from 11 a.m. to time of service Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Bible Church of Columbus or First Christian Church.

Carolyn was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, March 30, 1938, to William A. and Josephine A. Fox Sebastian.

She married, Richard L. Tempest on July 28, 1956.

He preceded her in death on June 13, 2014.

Survivors include her daughters, Cathryn (Kevin) Vogt of Columbus, Julie (Rob) Das of North Carolina, Beth (Blake) Fuller of Greenwood and Jennifer Lee Tempest of Columbus; grandchildren, Heather (Brandon) Allen, Patrick Vogt, Jonathan Vogt, Hannah Fuller, Addie Fuller, Evan Fuller, Nicholas Das and Emma Das.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Edna Catherine Sebastian and Joann Daily; and a brother, William “Bill” Sebastian Jr.
