Late free throws lift Eagles past Tigers

NASHVILLE — Aubrey Hollander sank two free throws with three seconds remaining Tuesday night to give Brown County a 63-62 girls basketball win against Crothersville.

The Eagles (5-11) trailed 33-30 at the half before going on a 12-2 run to take a 42-35 lead. The Tigers came back to take the lead with 11 seconds left, but Hollander drove the length of the floor and was fouled to set up with winning free throws.

Maddy Edds led Brown County with 17 points. Vanessa Hoskins added 11, and Hollander finished with 10.

Trinity tops Waldron despite power outage

SEYMOUR — The power went out at Trinity Lutheran with the Cougar girls leading Waldron 67-60 and 27 seconds remaining Tuesday night. After waiting 30 minutes, the game was called, giving Trinity the victory.

Abby Hackman led the Cougars (8-11) with 25 points and 17 rebounds. Whitney Rogers scored 15 points, and Savannah Harweger added 12.
