SHAWNEE, Okla. — Investigators say two people involved in a shooting at an Oklahoma casino that left one of them dead and the other injured were security guards at the casino.

The Oklahoman ( ) reports that the alleged shooter, 28-year-old Justin Wells, survived but his condition wasn’t immediately released.

Investigators believe he shot and killed 22-year-old Matt Palmer on Tuesday morning at the Grand Casino Hotel & Resort in Shawnee, about 35 miles southeast of Oklahoma City. The motive wasn’t immediately clear.

The casino is run by the Citizen Potawatomi Nation. Tribe spokeswoman Jennifer Bell says both men were security guards at the casino. She says security guards at the casino don’t carry guns. Bell says the shooting happened in the administrative offices.

FBI spokesman Terry Weber says Wells hasn’t been arrested because the investigation remains open.
