SPRING VALLEY, Calif. — Two men and a woman were shot to death in a San Diego County community in what may have been a shootout or a murder-suicide.

Gunfire reports sent sheriff’s deputies to an apartment in unincorporated Spring Valley on Friday afternoon.

A sheriff’s statement says deputies found a man wounded just inside the three-bedroom unit. He was rushed to a hospital, where he was declared dead.

Further inside, a man and woman were found already dead from gunshot wounds.

Investigators say it’s unclear whether the shooting was a murder-suicide but weapons were found in the home and no outside suspects are being sought.

The three dead were a 50-year-old man, a woman between 18 and 25 and a man between 18 and 25.

Their names and relationships have not been released.
