DES MOINES, Iowa — The Iowa Education Department has released its second annual Iowa School Report Card.

The department says the web-based system evaluates and rates public schools based on their performance on a required set of measures. The system was developed under direction from the Legislature.

School reports may be accessed at .

The scores and ratings are updated annually and are done only for individual public schools. A report card is based on each school’s performance over a two-year period and carries ratings of exceptional, high-performing, commendable, acceptable, needs improvement or priority.
