MANCHESTER, N.H. — A judge has set bail at $500,000 for a New Hampshire woman accused of selling the painkiller fentanyl that resulted in a friend’s death.

Heather Flattery was arrested last month in Las Vegas. A warrant was issued for her arrest in August after she failed to appear in court.

She’s accused of selling the drug in February. Prosecutors on Friday cited a text message the 30-year-old Flattery sent to the victim on the sale.

Flattery’s lawyer, public defender Todd Russell, said there’s no proof that she knew she was facing charges before she traveled across the country. WMUR-TV reports Russell said Flattery is a drug addict who was doing a favor for another addict after she received a request from the victim.
