BOOMER, W.Va. — A woman has died in a house fire in Fayette County.

Fayette County Sheriff Mike Fridley said in a news release that firefighters found a dead woman inside the home on Thursday night.

The Charleston Gazette-Mail (http://bit.ly/2iQjdSV ) reports that authorities believe the victim was a 53-year-old woman who lived there, but investigators have not conclusively determined the identity. The body was taken to the state Medical Examiner’s office.

The cause of the fire is unknown. Fridley says the fire does not appear to have been intentionally started.
