Bonnie J. Reece Fuller, 84, of Columbus, died Saturday, January 14, 2017, at her home.

Born Aug. 5, 1932, in Brazil, Indiana, Bonnie was the daughter of Lloyd and Ruth Banks Reece. She married Dr. Robert G. Fuller in 1955 in Columbus, and he survives.

Bonnie graduated from Columbus High School in 1950 and Indiana University in 1954 with a degree in political science, minor in journalism. She was a member of Alpha Phi Sorority and the Journalism Honorary. To this date, she maintained a Round Robin letter to her female classmates.

Over her lifetime, Bonnie was an active supporter of the Circle C 4-H Horse & Pony Club and Bartholomew County 4-H Rabbit Club in the 60’s. Bonnie also traveled the Midwest, showing Siamese cats for many years and was a member of the American Cat Fancier’s Association. The Dunes Cat Fanciers Inc., Crown Point, Indiana, plan to honor Bonnie at the next cat show March 11-12, 2017.

Bonnie raised and successfully raced Thoroughbred horses in Ohio and Indiana for eight years. She enjoyed sailing, fishing, camping, trail riding, reading and participating in her children’s activities. Bonnie was a member of a lady’s bowling league and had bowled her highest score 181 two days before her death. She was an avid supporter of the Columbus East Girls Basketball team (home and away) with daughter Barrie, Bonnie always wearing her signature orange lipstick.

Bonnie is survived by her husband, Dr. Robert G. Fuller, of Columbus; children, Toby (John Brown) Johnson, of Westport, Indiana, Blake (Beth) Fuller, of Greenwood, Rhett (Sharmila) Fuller, of Belle Mead, New Jersey and Barrie Fuller, of Columbus; grandchildren, Brittany (Tyler) Jaynes, of Honolulu, Hawaii, Samuel Johnson, of Bloomington, Hannah Fuller, of Indianapolis, Addie Fuller and Evan Fuller, of Greenwood, Bonnie Fuller and Summer Fuller, of Columbus and Rijel Fuller and Arjen Fuller, of Belle Mead, New Jersey; great-granddaughters, Bridgette and Claire Jaynes, of Honolulu, Hawaii; her brother, Gary (Ruth) Reece, of Ft. Myers, Florida; and two nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Loyd and Ruth, and stillborn granddaughter, Paula Ann.

Cremation and a private family gathering is planned.

Memorials for Bonnie may be sent to the Bartholomew County Humane Society or the Heritage Fund – Community Foundation of Bartholomew County.
