Gas prices dipped below $2 a gallon in Columbus, following a national trend of declining prices.


After Human Services Inc. allocated $1,204,000 to help families in a five-county area pay heating bills, 454 families in those counties still needed assistance.


Temperatures just slightly above zero caused short circuits that snapped electric lines at 21st Street and Cottage Avenue, disrupting electric service in the area in the early morning hours.
