NORTH VERNON — Responding to a report of an overdose, Jennings County Sheriff’s deputies arrested five people on drug-related charges in the Country Squire Lakes neighborhood in Geneva Township.
Deputies were went to 3765 Shrimpton Drive on Tuesday where they found Sean Cobb, 36, Columbus, suffering from an apparent overdose, said Deputy Bryan Katterhenry, sheriff’s department spokesman.
After administering a dose of naloxone, Cobb regained consciousness, Katterhenry said.
Cobb was taken to St. Vincent Jennings Hospital for medical evaluation and after being medically cleared, was transported to the Jennings County Jail.
During an investigation with the other individuals in the home, deputies located methamphetamine, heroin, and drug-related paraphernalia, Katterhenry said. Items pertaining to dealing methamphetamine and precursors to the manufacturing of methamphetamine were also located.
The Indiana Department of Child Services was contacted due to an 8-month-old child being present in the home. The child was removed and placed with a relative.

- Possession of Methamphetamine – Level 6 Felony
- Possession of Syringe – Level 6 Felony
- Maintaining Common Nuisance – Level 6 Felony
- Neglect of a Dependent – Level 6 Felony
- Possession of a Controlled Substance – Level 6 Felony
- Possession of Marijuana – Class A Misdemeanor
Sean S. Cobb was held at the Jennings County Jail on $10,055 cash bond.
Brittany R. Watts, 22, Columbus was arrested for:
- Dealing Methamphetamine – Level 5 Felony
- Possession of Methamphetamine – Level 6 Felony
- Possession of Syringe – Level 6 Felony
- Maintaining Common Nuisance – Level 6 Felony
- Neglect of a Dependent – Level 6 Felony
- Possession of a Controlled Substance – Level 6 Felony
- Possession of Marijuana – Class A Misdemeanor
Brittany R. Watts was held at the Jennings County Jail on $10,055 cash bond.
Curt J. Thornburg, 34, North Vernon was arrested for:
- Possession of two or more drug precursors – Level 6 Felony
- Possession of Methamphetamine – Level 6 Felony
- Possession of Controlled Substance – Level 6 Felony
- Maintaining Common Nuisance – Level 6 Felony
- Possession of Paraphernalia – Class A Misdemeanor
- Possession of Marijuana – Class A Misdemeanor
Curt J. Thornburg was held at the Jennings County Jail on $6,255 cash bond.
Brandy R. McGuire, 29 of North Vernon was arrested for:
- Maintaining Common Nuisance – Level 6 Felony

Phillip R. McGuire, 40 of North Vernon was arrested for:
- Maintaining Common Nuisance – Level 6 Felony
