Betty L. McCrory, 81, of Columbus, passed from this life at 3 a.m. Thursday, January 19, 2017, at Brown County Health & Living Community in Nashville.

Mrs. McCrory was born September 19, 1935, in Bartholomew County, to Oscar and Elnora Burbrink Schneider. She was the widow of Clyde F. McCrory, who preceded her in death in April 1996. Mrs. McCrory worked in food service for the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation, retiring as the cafeteria manager at Mt. Healthy Elementary School.

She was a faithful member of St. John’s Lutheran Church at White Creek where she was a member of the Ladies Aid. She enjoyed membership in the Helping Hand Home EC Club and she enjoyed feeding others with her special cooking and baking.

Survivors include her children, Danny Hamilton of Grammer and Rebecca (Donald) Mikels of Bedford; granddaughters, Mindy Mullis (Bret Hollman) of Hope and Katie Conrad (Clayton Webster) of North Vernon; a great-granddaughter, Madison Hollman of Hope; a sister, Mariagnes Meyer of Columbus; and several nieces, nephews, stepchildren, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. McCrory was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. John’s Lutheran Church at White Creek with Pastor Justin Whitmore officiating.

Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street and from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the church.

Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Orphan Grain Train, St. John’s Lutheran Church Foundation or the donor’s choice of charities.
