Goldie Mae White, 90, of Columbus, died at 10:43 p.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at Columbus Regional Health.
Born in Columbus, Goldie was the daughter of Newton Eugene and Jessie Ann Myers Sanford. She married Robert Henry White Sr., and he preceded her in death.
Goldie was a homemaker in her own home, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
Surviving Goldie are her daughter, Jessie (Thomas) Young, Columbus; her son, Robert White of Jennings County; 8 grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great-grandchildren. Goldie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister at a young age; and four brothers.
There will be a funeral service for Goldie at 10 a.m. on Monday, January 23, 2017, in Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th Street, Columbus. Burial will follow in Garland Brook Cemetery. Calling will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to the service on Monday. Memorials for Goldie may be sent to the American Cancer Society.
