James H. “Jim Bo” Michael, 56, of North Vernon, died Thursday, January 19, 2017, at Columbus Regional Hospital.
He worked as a handyman for several local farmers, a laborer for Northrupt King Seed, and as a millwright. James was an avid outdoorsman. He loved fishing and mushroom hunting. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends and family.
Born on April 22, 1960, in Bartholomew County, James was the son of John Rebe and Mae Louise Cobb Michael.
He is survived by his mother; brothers, Dennis (Julie), John (Faye), Mark, Ronald (Graciela) and Bill Michael; sisters, Shirley (Roger) Leeson and Donna, Lori, and Chris Michael; and several nieces and nephews.
James is preceded in death by his father; and his brothers, Travis, Steven, Jerry, and Larry Michael.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Norman Funeral Home in Hope. A service will be held at 6 p.m. with the Rev. Marty Wright officiating. Cremation will follow.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
