Jan David Freeman, 54, of Columbus, died at 2:08 p.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at his home.
Jan was born October 18, 1962, in Columbus to Clifford D. and Lillian R. Cooprider Freeman.
Jan was a graduate of Columbus High School. He was a longtime employee at Cosco Inc. and was a member of the National Rifle Association. An outdoorsman, Jan enjoyed his family and friends and was an animal lover.
Survivors include his sister, Shirley M. Stroud of Fort Worth, Texas; brothers, Jerry (Judith) Freeman of Columbus and Terry (Lettie) Freeman of Columbus; and several nieces and nephews.
Jan was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Donald Ray Freeman; and his brother-in-law, Steve Stroud.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Jonathan Moore Pike with the Rev. John Carr officiating. Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday and from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
