National Road and 17th Street topped the list of the city’s most accident-prone intersections, with 32 accidents reported in 1991, down from 35 in 1990. The intersection at 17th Street and Central Avenue was No. 10 with 14 accidents.

The Indiana State Highway Department once again rejected the proposal to install a traffic signal at 25th Street and Home Avenue, saying a signal was not warranted under current state standards involving traffic volume and accident rate.
