Motorist William Lucas called 911 then jumped into icy Haw Creek to keep Paula Campos, 12, from drowning. Gage Campos, 11, Paula’s brother, couldn’t help his sister after she slipped on black ice and fell into the water, so he ran from the People Trail to Marr Road to find help.
