MALE

Connor Wilson, Hauser senior basketball player

Wilson scored a career-high 35 points Friday to lead the Jets to a 75-71 win at Waldron. On Saturday, he scored 17 points to lead Hauser to a 61-47 win at Crothersville.

His performance last week: “I felt pretty good. My teammates got me open shots.”

Do you do anything special to prepare? “I stretch and do dribbling drills, and we pray as a team before the game.”

Favorite drink: “Blue Powerade”

Favorite food: “Anything from Subway”

Favorite book: “The Diary of a Wimpy Kid”

Favorite class: “Psychology”

Role model: “My aunt and uncle (Dana and Mike Devaun)”

Best advice: “Play hard and have fun.”

Athletics goal: “Win the sectional.”

If you could travel anywhere: “Hawaii, because my parents went there, and they said it was beautiful and that it had big waves.”

FEMALE

, Columbus East junior gymnast

Minor swept all four individual events and the all-around Saturday to lead the Olympians to a tri-meet win. She set school records on the floor (9.8) and in the all-around (38.85).

Her performance last week: “As a team, we did really well, besides on beam. Even after beam, we recovered on floor, and I think that benefited us.”

Do you do anything special to prepare? “We just listen to music in the locker room, and then I come up here (to the gymnastics area) and clear my mind.”

Favorite drink: “Lemonade”

Favorite food: “Pizza”

Favorite book: “Harry Potter series”

Favorite class: “My newspaper class”

Role model: “My brother (Jeremy). Me and him weren’t really that close growing up, but as I’ve gotten older, I’ve learned from some of his mistakes, and he’s taught me how to go through high school.”

Best advice: “When it comes to competition, you just have to go there and throw what you know because in the end, it’s all going to come down to what you do. You can’t control what anyone else does.”

Athletics goal: “To hopefully win sectional or regional and to place top four at state as a team.”

If you could travel anywhere: “I would like to go to Spain. My brother studied abroad there, and it seems really nice.”
