BOYS SWIMMING

North second in conference

TERRE HAUTE — Columbus North won a pair of events and finished second in Saturday’s Conference Indiana meet at Terre Haute South.

Kaemon Jiles won the diving competition with 468.45 points for the Bull Frogs. Evan Patterson, Thomas Goble, Adam Zhuang and Angel Torres Martinez took the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1 minute, 29.91 seconds.

Sam Russell finished second in both the 200 individual medley (1:59.94) and 100 butterfly (53.83), Torres Martinez took second in the 50 freestyle (22.62), Nick Green was second in the 500 freestyle (4:53.31) and North came in second in the 200 medley relay (1:41.26).

Also for the Bull Frogs, Evan Patterson finished third in the 200 freestyle (1:47.20) and 100 freestyle (48.67), Jared Carroll took third in the 50 freestyle (22.75) and 100 backstroke (56.07) and Grant Fehribach was third in diving (359.00).

GYMNASTICS

Olympians take second

MERRILLVILLE — Columbus East finished second in the Merrillville Invitational. The host Pirates won with 108.2 to 107.95 for the Olympians.

Adi Minor won the vault (9.8) and floor (9.525) and finished third on the bars (9.225) and eighth on the beam (8.7) on her way to a second-place finish in the all-around (37.25).

Seena Greiwe took third on the floor (9.15), fifth on the bars (9.15) and tied for seventh on the vault (8.8) for a fifth-place all-around finish (35.4). Taylor Gaskill was second on the beam (9.2) and seventh on the bars (8.775), floor (8.875) and all-around.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Jets upend Bulldogs

HOPE — Hauser outscored Batesville 15-4 in the second quarter to break open a close game and went on to post a 51-36 win against Batesville.

Connor Wilson and Alex Gross each scored 14 points to lead the Jets (11-6). Mason Sherman added nine.

Lancers fall twice

EDINBURGH — Edinburgh was within six points at halftime Saturday night, but Central Christian Academy pulled away for an 80-58 win.

Coltan Henderson led the Lancers (5-14) with 24 points on eight 3-pointers. Justin Foskuhl added 11 points.

Edinburgh was coming off an 81-36 Mid-Hoosier Conference loss to Morristown on Friday. Henderson scored 11 points.
