Billy Joe Deaton, 69, of Westport, died Saturday, January 28, 2017, at his home.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sawyer–Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. The Rev. Dale Boyd will officiate. Burial and military graveside rites will be conducted at Vernon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Deaton of Westport; son, Dan Deaton of Indianapolis; daughters, Kim (Jim) Whitaker of Westport and Tonya Deaton of Indianapolis; brother, Earl Deaton Jr. of Ohio; sisters, Charlotte (J.B.) Bell of North Vernon, Deborah (Gary) of Conroe, Texas, Vicki (Richard) Strine of Ohio, and Robbin (Mike) Krauser of Ohio; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Volunteers of Rescue 20, Westport Volunteer Fire Department or the Disabled Veterans.
