United Way 2-1-1 will host an open house from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 10 at its offices at 1531 13th St., Columbus, to allow residents to meet the staff and have a tour.
In 2016, the local 2-1-1 center answered more than 15,000 contacts, made by phone, text message, instant messages on social media and emails.
2-1-1 provides free and confidential service to connect residents to essential health and services and is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The 2-1-1 specialists assist residents in finding food, clothing, shelter, rent and utility assistance, and more.
United Way 2-1-1 South Central Indiana serves Bartholomew, Brown, Decatur, Jackson, Jennings, Lawrence, Orange, Scott and Washington counties.
This year’s official “2-1-1 Day” is Feb. 11.
