Josephine Anne “Jo” Scoggan, 57, of Birchwood St., Columbus, passed away at 3:40 a.m. February 2, 2017, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Josephine was born June 14, 1959, in Columbus, the daughter of Charles H. and Mary R. Weisenberger Buckles. She married Harold W. Scoggan on September 18, 1999.
Josephine was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, and was an artist and enjoyed gardening.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday February 7, 2017, at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church with Father Clem Davis officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Jewell – Rittman Family Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church. A Rosary Service will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Josephine A. Scoggan Memorial Fund through the funeral home.
Survivors include her husband, Harold; brothers, Chuck Buckles of Michigan and Don (Cindy) Buckles of Columbus; sisters, Betty Proffitt of Columbus, Ellen (Larry) Stout of Austin, Indiana and Wendy Wright of Seymour; several nieces and nephews; as well as her two cats, Tori and John Boy.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Phil Buckles; and a sister, Dottie Patton.
