Karen H. Swaim, 77, of Taylorsville, passed from this life at 8:43 a.m. Saturday, February 4, 2017, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.

Mrs. Swaim was a homemaker and enjoyed seven-and-a-half years as a husband and wife trucking team to the west coast.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with her son, Joe Swaim and son-in-law, Deacon Tom Hill officiating.

Friends may call from noon until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Hope Moravian Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Bartholomew County Humane Society or Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.

Karen was born March 11, 1939, in Hope. She was the daughter of Estel and Freda Everroad Wells.

She married Robert L. Swaim on August 24, 1957.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years; her children, Joe (Debbie) Swaim of Columbus, Judy (Tom) Hill of Columbus, Joyce (Jeff) Granger of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania and Jon (Lori) Swaim of Columbus; grandchildren, Chuck and Phillip Swaim, Ben (Lisa) Hill, Dan (Angie) Hill and Madeline and Paxton Swaim; great-grandchildren, Noelle, Makenna and Gabrielle Hill; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Dell Wells; and sisters, Sheila Clendenien and Vona Salazar.
