Mildred Hinchberger

Mildred Lorraine Griffin Hinchberger, 92, of New Castle, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 6, 2017.

She was born Aug. 10, 1924, in Bedford, Indiana, a daughter of the late Edward and Fawna Rains.

Mildred was a graduate of New Castle High School. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, St. Ann’s Catholic Church and Tri Kapa Sorority. She worked for Indiana Bell as a secretary for several years. She enjoyed traveling and camping with her family and late husbands. Mildred loved to play bridge and cook. She was best known for her soups and wonderful Italian meals.

She is survived by her loving children, Lana (Ron) White of Spiceland and Larry (Cathy) Griffin of Columbus; grandchildren, Holly (Brandon) Dishman, Natalie Pinkerton, Brian (Kathy) Walls, Ashleih (Joe) Chesher, Brent Griffin, Mandy (Brian) Belt, Harrison Griffin and Jonathan (Colleen) Buening; great-grandchildren, Logan and MacKenzie Pinkerton, Maddy and Landon Dishman, Griffin, Charlotte and Jack Chesher, Syrus, Magnus, Haley and Phineus Belt. Children of Paul Hinchberger, Carole Ann Mahony, Diana Justus, Mary Elizabeth Gall, Paul Hinchberger Jr., Timothy Hinchberger and James Hinchberger all of Butler, Pennsylvania.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert E. Griffin; her second husband, Paul Hinchberger; a daughter, Linda K. Walls; sisters, Virginia Lambo and Beulah Richey; brothers, Roger, Robert, Alfred and Charles Rains; as well as an infant twin brother.

Funeral services will be held at noon Friday, Feb. 10, 2017, at Sproles Family Funeral Home with Pastor Ken Durham. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery West Lawn Addition. Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
